A wheelchair was also presented to the department, represented by Nursing Staff Anne Ward and Judith Edwards

On the same day, in the evening the Inner-Wheel Club of Deal, presented us with a cheque for £50.00,as part of their Community Service.

The proceeds of the Deal & Walmer LVA Golf tournament on April 24th enabled a cheque for £1000 to be presented to the Prostate Cancer Support Association on behalf of the Deal & Walmer Licensed Victuallers Asscn.The event was organised by Phil Bailey, Licensee of the Clarendon Hotel on Monday 2nd June.

On Sat 31t May, at the Undercroft-Deal, Gerry
showed and sold some
of his collection of Deal & Walmer Pictures to raise funds for our Association

On Easter Saturday, braving the wintry conditions, Danny and Graham, surrounded by The Deal Regatta Queen and her two Princesses collected in Deal High Street. The Regatta Queen and the Princesses promoted our collection by adding glamour to a cold day.

A great effort which, in spite of the conditions, produced £215.00 for our Charity Fund.

This is the 3rd Wheelchair restored and ready for delivery
to the QEQM Hospital Margate during March 2008

Our very first Annual Dinner-Dance was held on Sat Dec 1st, at the Walmer and Kingsdown Golf Club.
There was a very good attendance, good food, excellent music the whole evening, and a lot
of friendly chat amongst our members, partners and guests. We are certain this will be the first of many.

November 2007 started with the handing over of the 3rd Portable Scanner to be
donated local Hospitals, this one to the Derry Unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital
in Folkestone. The picture show Consultants Mr. Tony Deane and Mr. R.Krishnan
receiving the equipment from our Chairman Alan Prior, and Secretary Graham
Edwards, with Rotarian Noel Tatt to the far left and Treasurer Gerry Costa
to the far right. The rest of PSA Members, Rotarians and Representatives of
Kent Lodges can be seen behind the front row.

and following this handing over, we were delighted to receive from
Mr. David Hart, on behalf of the Lodge St George Bahrain with a
cheque for £500.00 for our funds for future projects.

During our October meeting , Macmillan Staff Josie Richards, Helen Sales,
and Brenda Manktelow accepted our 2nd wheelchair,
on behalf of the Oncology Department at the K&C Hospital, in the presence
of a large number of our members attending the meeting.

The Walmer and Kingsdown Golf Club have been very generous with their donations.
On 25th October 07, they handed over a cheque for £700.00 to our Secretary Graham Edwards,
on his left Captain John Reynolds and on the right Elders Captain David Lintern
(who have also donated £450 during the year)

In Oct '07, we were pleased to receive local MP Gwyn Prosser, and Alison Rowe, Head of Region, Big Lottery Fund
at our 'Head Office', (Graham & Hessie's home) to find out what effect the Lottery Grant had in our community.
We told them and recommended they had a good look at our web-site to get all the details.
They left quite happy to see the good effect their help had on our work at PSA Canterbury Branch.

The Walmer Community Event 'Picnic On the Green' on Aug.18th '07, invited us to join them
and give people in Walmer and Deal the opportunity to find out about PSA Canterbury, and support us.

On June 13th 2007, we collected our latest cheque for our Charity.
SERCO Chairman's Award for Outstanding Performance was awarded
to Mr Dave Williamson, Senior Supervisor at Serco.
He graciously nominated PSA Canterbury Branch as the charity of his choice.
